The Too Hot to Trot 5K started in 2015. The race hosted about 50 participants its first year and doubled in size the following year. We try to make this event fun and exciting for participants of all ages. The course is weaved through a beautiful neighborhood and well marked. In 2016, an after party was added to the experience. We now have several exhibitors that join us, a bounce house, glitter tattoos, games, and music to enjoy after you finish. All participants enjoy a full meal after the race. The entry fee includes a t-shirt, goody bag, and water bottle while supplies last. The top male and female finalists are awarded with a small trophy to add to their collections and $100 cash. We give awards to the top three places in every age group as well. An award is given to the team which is voted to have the most spirit. We encourage the neighborhood to join the fun and cheer on the racers as they pass by their houses.
In 2021, the race was moved to the country. The race starts and ends at the founder of Luv-a-Dad's residence and routes through beautiful farmland. Part of the course runs along an irrigation ditch with the sound of soothing water flowing.
All proceeds from this event benefit Luv-a-Dad so that we can continue to financially assist fathers with cancer in our community.
